Forza Horizon 6 is just around the corner, launching globally on May 19, 2026, with early access for Premium Edition owners starting May 15. Japan is getting some big tweaks to the leaderboard and progression systems. If you've played previous Forza Horizon titles, you know the frustration of seeing “impossible” scores on leaderboards. Playground Games is finally addressing this with serious changes.

1. Major Leaderboard Changes & Anti-Cheat

Leaderboard integrity has been a major gripe in the community for years. From outrageous jump scores to lap times that defy physics, cheating has often ruined competitive fun. Forza Horizon 6 tackles this head-on.

Day One Anti-Cheat

From the moment the game launches, the Exploit Detection System will be active. Think of it as an invisible referee watching every stunt, race, and speed run. If a jump distance or lap time is physically impossible, the system will flag it immediately. Unlike older titles, scores that fail validation will automatically be removed, so leaderboard climbers can't get away with unrealistic exploits.

Weekly Leaderboard Resets

Open-world events like Speed Zones, Danger Signs, and PR Stunts will now have weekly resets. This keeps the competitive environment alive and prevents static leaderboards where the same names dominate for months. For casual and hardcore players alike, it means you always have a chance to shine if you put in the time.

Linux / Steam Deck Considerations

The new anti-cheat system is robust but also technically demanding. Early reports suggest that Linux and Steam Deck support might be limited at launch. If you're planning to play on these platforms, be prepared for some possible performance limitations or delayed leaderboard functionality. This is a tradeoff Playground Games seems willing to make to preserve fair competition.

Forza Horizon 6 Major Leaderboard Changes & Anti-Cheat

For players looking to dive into Forza Horizon 6 right from the start without worrying about leaderboard exploits or account risks, platforms like SHANNENG make it easy to buy secure FH6 accounts. With the new anti-cheat measures, weekly leaderboard resets, and strict score validation, having a verified account ensures you can compete fairly and focus on mastering Speed Zones, Danger Signs, and PR Stunts without any hassle or risk of bans.

Q: How do the Leaderboards work for Time Attack Circuits?

We believe that Horizon is better together, and Time Attack is no exception. Time Attack Circuits will allow you to compete with your friends in real-time on the new Convoy Leaderboard, which shows your Convoy's current best lap times on the circuit. Simply invite them to a Convoy and away you go.

Remember, this is all in the Shared World. Players can turn up in any car they like... so you never quite know who’ll show up.

Every Time Attack Circuit is accompanied by an in-world Leaderboard, which shows the best times across the globe. These Leaderboards show your best time at your car’s current PI level, your next rival, and the global top 3 across the community. These Leaderboards reset each season, creating a brand-new weekly routine at the Horizon Festival and a reason to return to the circuit every week, where you can get your name up in lights.

Q: What other Leaderboards does Forza Horizon 6 include?

In addition to the new Convoy Leaderboards and in-world Leaderboard for our Shared Open World features, there will also be classic Leaderboards for PR Stunts and Rivals as before. What’s more, all Leaderboards can now be filtered by PI class, and while Time Attack Circuit and Drag Meet Leaderboards reset weekly, all other Leaderboards in the game are permanent.

We're launching Forza Horizon 6 with improvements in place to help detect unrealistic scores on Rivals and Time Attack Leaderboards from day one thanks to our new exploit score detection and removal systems.

2. Progression & The Hall of Fame

The leaderboard journey in Forza Horizon 6 is no longer a free-for-all. Japan's festival progression is structured, rewarding skill and persistence rather than just grind or exploits.

From Tourist to Legend

The Road to Legend Island: You begin your adventure as a tourist, new to the festival scene. To climb the ranks, you earn Wristbands, a callback to the original Forza Horizon. Each Wristband level unlocks tougher challenges and better rewards. This gradual climb ensures newcomers don't get crushed by veterans on day one.

Legend Island

Hitting the Gold Wristband is a big deal. Once you reach it, you become a Horizon Legend and gain access to Legend Island. This is the ultimate playground for competitive players, featuring the most prestigious leaderboards, top-tier events, and rare rewards. It's essentially the endgame hub where only the best compete.

Hall of Fame

The Hall of Fame acts as the master leaderboard for the festival. Here, your total Accolades—earned through races, stunts, and challenges—are displayed for friends and the global community. Physically, the leaderboard is located at the main Horizon Festival site, making it a visual representation of your achievements. Hitting the top of this leaderboard is a badge of honor for any serious player.

3. Specialized Leaderboards

Not all leaderboards are created equal. Forza Horizon 6 introduces specialized boards to highlight specific skills, giving racers a variety of competitive avenues.

Time Attack Circuits

Premium Edition owners and select DLC packs unlock Time Attack cars. These aren't about insane top speeds—they're about precision driving. Each Japanese circuit has its own Time Attack leaderboard, challenging players to perfect their lines, braking points, and cornering. It's a pure test of skill, and dominating these leaderboards is a true mark of a technical driver.

Class-Based Filtering

After you complete a race for the first time, you unlock the Race Customizer. This tool allows you to filter leaderboards by car class, from D-class beginners to R-class monsters. Want to see who's the fastest in S1 class only? Or compare lap times for R-class hypercars? Now you can. This gives players a fair and meaningful way to compete, rather than lumping vastly different cars together.
